Today's topic-wallpaper.

Generally when someone mentions the word wallpaper, we tend to think of country florals and plaids. Totally fuddy duddy. Well, that is not the case anymore. Wallpapers have come a LONG way, and I'm dying to put some up in my own home, specifically grasscloth. It has such a cozy, textural presence, and adds so much dimension and interest in a room. Phillip Jeffries has a line of geometric printed grasscloth that is divine! He combined two of my favorite design elements, texture and graphic print. Love him. And if that weren't bananas enough, Lori Weitzner has a line of magnetic grasscloth. Um, hello, genius! With all of this fabulousness, you just may want to reconsider your position on wallpaper.

This little breakfast nook is so much fun with Kelly Wearstler's imperial trellis wallpaper.  The mixture of traditional and modern is perfect.
You can never have too much imperial trellis.

This room is one of my all time favorites from the grasscloth walls, bamboo table, charcoal sketches, and lantern fixtures.  It's perfection.

Look what came in the mail today....

My stencil from the fabulous Olive Leaf Stencils! I had seen an image featured in Lonny Magazine of the Trellis wallpaper by Manuel Canovas used in a breakfast nook months ago, and had been coveting that design ever since. Unfortunately for me, this fabulous paper was waaaay out of my price range. Then I came across this totally bananas stencil that completely knocked my socks off. I couldn't believe my eyes. For $40 plus the cost of paint, I could have the same exact graphic print design, and for a whole lot less. I think I may have the perfect project in mind. This Ikea rug + this to die for stencil & paint = perfection! Stay tuned.....

How killer is this children's room from designer Amie Corley for Lonny Magazine? Love all of the colors and pattern

Cape Cod classic

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to attend this amazing open house renovation by Tiek Built Homes. What a dramatic transformation. The Cape Cod coastal feel had me smelling the fresh sea air. The interior was designed by the lovely interior decorator Caitlin Creer, who did a beautiful job keeping it clean, airy, and simple. Wished it was for sale!

Head over heals for houndstooth

With fall rapidly approaching, I couldn't help but think of all of the textures and patterns that it brings. The wools, the flannels, the herringbones, and lastly, houndstooth. I find it so interesting how fashion and interior design are so interchangeable. Houndstooth has gone from menswear to side chairs, and everything else in between. And, look what I found. Remember the fabulous houndstooth rug below from Better Homes and Garden's by Jonathan Adler? You can now find this same look at Garnet Hill, and save some serious clams in the process.

That vintage chair is gorgeous!

The Thibaut coral fan wallpaper, and the houndstooth pillow are a great pattern combination

I love a good horizontal stripe

Tobi Fairley always gets it right.  Love the color combination.
