2013 Atlanta Decorator's Showhouse

Remember when I blogged about Mary McDonald's luxurious new fabric line for F. Schumacher here?  Well, interior designer Melanie Turner used this incredible line in the beautiful 2013 Atlanta Decorator's Showhouse.  The results in this master bedroom are soft, serene, and nothing short of stunning.

Blush Chinois Palais draperies add soft femininity in this relaxing reading nook.  And can we talk about that amazing lucite side table & credenza?  Seriously!

Love the balance of the Vanderbilt Velvet on this vintage settee, & the lovely collection of sketches hung above it.

I think you could all agree, this room is perfection.  What is your favorite part of the room?

Multiple personalities

Have you ever been "Catfished"?  What is a Catfish you ask?  A Catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities.  In light of recent catfishing stories in the news (one big one being Manti Te'o), I was curious.  Could somoeone possibly be using my image without my consent?  I was completely shocked at what I found.  Turns out, I have multiple personalities..

So what can you do to find out if this is happening to you?  It's actually very simple.
  1. Open Google.
  2. Click on the "images" tab
  3. Drag and drop your image into the search box.  The internet will then scan for any images that may be a match.
So you've found out someone has been impersonating you, now what?  Most social networks have impersonation policies, so don't be afraid to contact them if you find someone is using your image without your consent.  You may also want to consider contating the impersonator directly, and insisting that they immediately stop using your image.  Most of all, be proactive.  Check Google regularly for any new activity that may be occuring, and then take the necessary actions to stop it.  I know I will be doing regular searches from now on!

How about you?  Has this happened to you personally or to anyone you know?  I'd be interested to hear about it.  It's a wild, wild web out there!

Lovely lepidopterae

I'm sort of obsessed with these Lepidopterae "Moth Song" oil-on-linen paintings from talented Australian artist Allyson Reynolds

Who knew that a collection of moth's could be so unbelievably beautiful.

What do you think?  Aren't the lovely?  I simply must have one (or maybe two) in my home!

Want one of your own?  Pick up one of her limited edition prints here, or perhaps a copy of her Moth Song book here.

Nate Berkus for Calico Corners

Handsome design hunk Nate Berkus seems to be everywhere lately (and let's be honest, what's not to love about that!) I've been loving his affordable new line for Target, and now he has a fabulous new textile collection available at Calico Corners.  Here is just a sampling of what you can expect.

Bella Terre in carbon

Grenelle in pebble

Patras in chamomile (a little reminiscent of China Seas Ziggurat).

Santa Maria in mineral

Solange in quartz

There are definitely some great fabrics in this line.  I'm pretty anxious to see them in person.  Which one is your favorite?  Will you be stopping by Calico Corners to see his entire collection?  I know I will be.
